According to the O Globo sales at Casas Bahia group stores – both in-store and online store retail chain specializing in furniture and home appliances has tripled with increase of 700%.
Due to the heatwave the number of air conditioners sold in January skyrocketed.
At Fast Shop demand for appliances grew by 51% with sales up 59%. 'With the first heatwave at the end of September we prepared ourselves to fulfill all the orders guaranteeing a variety of products and the best delivery times as well as services such as appliance instalation' said the retailer according to the report.
Magarize Luiza saw growth of 327% while th Buscape platform recorded a 27.55% increace in prices with appliances with a minimum value of R$1,400 and an average value of R$2,346.
